Atherton & District Amateur Photographic Society (ADAPS) is a progressive photography society and one of the largest camera clubs in the Wigan, Leigh and surrounding area. We are part of the Lancashire & Cheshire Photographic Union.

We are a group of enthusiastic amateur photographers involved in all aspects of photography – digital, film, black and white, colour, landscapes, wildlife, portraits, creative, you name it…

We’re a very friendly photography club and we actively welcome visitors and new members. ADAPS is fully inclusive, run by the members for the members. We hold events all year round for photographers of all skill levels, from complete beginners to competition winners.

If you like taking photographs, want to learn and improve your skills, and have a lot of fun doing it, come and join us. We meet every Thursday evening from 8.00pm and we hope to see you soon.

Membership Fees 

There is no charge for visitors to attend their first couple of meetings in order to get a feel for what the club is about and to see how you enjoy it. If you then decide to join, our membership fees are very reasonable.

Your membership entitles you to attend club events throughout the year and will open up a whole new social life, gain you new friends as well as developing your hobby and making you a more competent and confident photographer.

All year round in our own clubroom/studio

Unlike some clubs that only meet for half a year, ADAPS offers a programme of events all year round, which means that there is bound to be lots for everyone to enjoy. Many camera clubs meet once a week for a couple of hours in their local library or community centre. ADAPS is fortunate to have our own clubroom which means that we can use it as often as we like.
